  • Wakin signs on with Rock Records for another 3 years, accepting only 1 Yuan as payment!  In a generous gesture to help Rock through some financial difficulties, Wakin has apparently waived the customary signing bonus (a certain percentage of anticipated royalties that is paid to the artist up front) and accepted only 1 Yuan instead.  The Yuan, the unit of currency in China, is a symbolic payment only. Wakin has been with Taiwan's Rock Records throughout his recording career, beginning 19 years ago.   Read the article in Chinese at True Blue Emil's site If you need English, plug in the URL to Babelfish, and translate the whole page from Chinese Traditional to English.
