Wakin 20: "A Night of Love, Passion and Memories"

Wakin's Wardrobe: "Sharp Dressed Man"

Okay, cue the ZZ Top soundtrack! (I know, I know...my Texan is showing...) For all those fans who are extra fashion-savvy and appreciate Wakin's very versatile style, here comes the fashion report!

Wakin first appeared in a dazzling white suit. I  always really like the white suit look on Wakin, because when the stage lights hit him just right he almost blazes like he's on fire.  Always high "wow-effect" numbers on this must-have-in-the-lineup essential!

White, however, eventually gave way to a tres elegant black suit with a shiny silver lapel.  An awesome, very sophisticated look, and perfect for his duet with Patti Austin, who was herself stunningly attired (and looking very gorgeous in) a very simple, but seductively feminine, mermaid-style gown of lustrous black taffeta.

His next change was to a more casual, country-western shirt with chocolate brown patches and coordinating brown jeans.  As many have observed, this laid-back, Western style works very well on Wakin, and gives him a very natural, rugged look.  Of course, being Western myself, I thought it was a great choice, and a nice contrast to the ultra-chic suits he'd worn up to that point.  It was perfect for that time in the show also, because that style complimented the more informal acoustic set he was performing, as well as the absolutely rocking "New Everlasting Love".  Way cool.

His next change was to a very contemporary Shantung silk jacket and embellished vest in a brilliant apple green, which looked really amazing set against the colorful stage background and lights.  Very nice bit of gear, that!

When he came back on stage for his encore, he was wearing his final change of the evening, a tuxedo-like black and white silk suit.  It was simple, elegant, and well--sharp!  A totally appropriate ending to the evening.  (A-how-how...)
